Colorful Plexi Text Effect using Photoshop

In this Awesome★ Photoshop tutorial, i’m going to show you how to create a cool looking colorful Plexi text effect.

Glow
Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, set Radius to 20 pixels and apply. Hit Command+F twice to apply the filter two more times. Command-click the "A3" layer thumbnail to load the selection. Then holding down the SHIFT key, Command-click "A2" and "A1" layer thumbnails to add to selection. Hit Backspace to clear and deselect.

Stop the Action
Select all layers except the Background in the Layers Palette. Go to Layer > New > Group from Layers and name the group "FINAL". So we’re finished with the first letter, go to Actions Palette and hit the Stop button.

Create a New Document
OK. Now we’ve finished the first letter and stopped recording the action. So now it’s time to apply the whole process for our other letters which are in different documents. But before doing that we’ll create another document in which we’ll bring all the letters together. Create a new document that is 2000 pixels wide and 1400 pixels high and name it "Final". Fill the Background with 75% Gray.

Pick A
First go to "A" document, select the "Final" group, go to Layer > Duplicate Group, name the copy as "A" and set Destination Document to "Final", hit OK. Now "A" group is duplicated and placed into our final document.

Play it Back for W
Go to "W" document, select the "Text" layer in the Layers Palette. Select the "Glassy" Action, then click the Play button in the Actions Palette. Shortly you will have your letter ready. Select the "Final" group, go to Layer > Duplicate Group, name the copy as "W" and set Destination Document to "Final", hit OK.

Play it Back for E
Go to "E" document, select the "Text" layer in the Layers Palette. Click the Play button in the Actions Palette. Shortly you will have your letter ready again. Select the "Final" group, go to Layer > Duplicate Group, name the copy as "E" and set Destination Document to "Final", hit OK. Now all your letters are in the "Final.psd" document.

Arrange Letters
Go to "Final.psd" document and place the letters like in the below image. We’ll add some light to the background and we’re finished.

Put Some Light
Create a new layer above the Background layer and name it “Light”. Get the Elliptical Marquee Tool and make a selection like in the below image. Fill it with White and deselect. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and apply with a Radius of 100 pixels. Hit Command+T and set Rotation to 30 degrees and apply. Then hit Command+T again and set Vertical Scale to 60%. Go to Fİlter > Blur > Gaussian Blur one more time and apply with a Radius of 80 pixels.
